If you are struggling financially due to coronavirus and its impacts you should contact your mortgage provider. Some mortgage providers are offering reduced payments or a 3-month mortgage holiday, including for buy-to-let mortgages. Note that this does result in mortgage repayments increasing after the holiday so please consider this carefully and how it will affect you.
Loan repayments
Some banks are offering help with loan payments whether this may be deferring payments for 3 months or waving late fees. You will need to speak to your loan provider to get this help.
Credit cards
Some banks are offering payment holidays and increased credit limits or waiving late fees. You should contact the credit card provider for this help.
Renting
The government are introducing legislation that means your landlord cannot start possession proceedings against you until you have missed rent payments for at least 3 months. They themselves should not pressure you to pay if you are in financial difficulty and after 3 months of missed payments, they should support you to stay in your home by agreeing an affordable repayment schedule.
Bills
If you are in financial difficulty and cannot pay your bills you should speak to the relevant companies to workout a plan with them.
