Laura, Brand Manager

What does your role involve?

I head up the Marketing, Creative and Web team for the instantprint brand of Bluetree Group. In a nutshell, it’s our job to make people want to buy from instantprint, and keep them coming back!

We cover both digital and offline marketing – from PR, SEO and social media campaigns to deciding what products we think customers will want to buy; everything we do is focussed on showing small business owners (our main customers) why instantprint should be their print partner.

My team decide how the site looks, which products we want to sell, how we price products and then create all marketing materials that are sent out to customers, either via email or in the post. We also research new technologies we can implement on the website to make it as easy as possible for customers to order print.

What’s the best bit about your job?

The team is amazing. We’re an enthusiastic and driven group of people that love what we do. I’ve never worked with a team that’s so passionate and it’s great to everyone working towards the same goal.

Why do you enjoy working for Bluetree Group?

No two days are the same and we are constantly looking for new, exciting challenges to take on. In a business that’s growing as fast as Bluetree, you are encouraged to think of new ideas that the team hasn’t tried before, so you are constantly learning new skills. I started Bluetree as an entry level Marketing Executive after university over 3 years ago, and now I’ve worked up to leading a team and becoming a Brand Manager. As long as you have the right attitude and determination to learn, Bluetree believes anything can be taught and they truly invest in their staff.

Macauley, Marketing Executive

What does your role involve?

I originally started at Bluetree Group as a Customer Service Advisor for instantprint. After 18 months, applied for a role in the Direct Sales team as a Business Development Executive, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Recently, a new opportunity come up on the Route 1 Print brand as a Marketing Executive. This was the field that I studied at university and I managed to secure this role in February this year. The main objectives in my role are help to plan and implement the marketing activity for Route 1 Print across multiple channels such as email marketing, content marketing, press advertising, social media and PPC.

What’s the best bit about your job?

I really enjoy being able to come up with and implement new and creative ideas of how we’re able to promote the brand. I also love that every day is different – it’s a busy department and we’re always kept on our toes!

Why do you enjoy working for Bluetree Group?

The work environment that we have here is unbeatable. It’s not your typical workspace – the open plan and colourful office makes it an inviting place to come, the company culture is friendly and inclusive, and the casual dress code is much more relaxing than having to wear a suit every day. I also feel very valued as an employee; Bluetree are continuously seeking to improve by having a bi-annual questionnaire which allows us to provide feedback. This has seen the introduction of things like Bupa healthcare and free fruit.

Christie, Marketing Executive

What does your role involve?

My role is really varied. I review and monitor all the marketing activity Route 1 Print undertake and perform analysis on this and what it achieved. My current projects include direct mail campaigns, planning interactive video content, and preparing for a big event in September, to name just a few! I also support our other Marketing Exec, on some of the day-to-day activity, including reviewing emails. Finally, I drill deeper into analysis to understand what we have done and where we can improve.

What’s the best bit about your job?

I know it is cliché but I work on that many different things no two days are ever the same. It’s also so rewarding seeing all of the hard work that goes into a project paying off. The Creative & Marketing team worked on a really big direct mail campaign earlier this year and to see the high quality of it is amazing.

Why do you enjoy working for Bluetree Group?

Bluetree is really fast-paced and there is always something going on, something you can get involved in or something you can support. But because it is so fast-paced and busy there is loads of support. Our MD, Adam, talks about us ‘defining the future of print’ and Bluetree makes you feel like you are one big team striving towards this goal.
